As of the Spring 2019 semester we will no longer be accepting new applications for both the Post-Masters Educational Specialist in Marriage and Family Therapy (EdS) and the M.A. in Marriage Couple and Family Counseling and Therapy and the programs. Although we will no longer offer the degree concentration, we will continue to offer students in both our Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling programs a number of MCFCT courses, both elective and required.
Educational Specialist (EdS) Degree Program in Marriage and Family Therapy (EDS_01)
The Educational Specialist (EdS) in Marriage and Family Therapy degree program is designed for master’s level professional counselors who wish to pursue advanced study in marriage and family therapy. Based on their previous educational and supervised clinical experiences, students will be required to complete a minimum of 24 graduate credits in marriage and family therapy. Course work meets the educational requirements for licensure in marriage and family therapy in New Jersey.
All EdS applicants must hold a master’s degree from a CACREP-approved counseling program, or its equivalent, and complete a departmental screening interview. All prerequisites must be met before entering the program.
